clear coat

A quick question. I have an older Specialized Sirrus Epic with carbon tubes annd alloy lugs. i'm cleaning it up to sell on CL and noticed a couple spots where the clear coat has chipped off - small, fingernail-sized spots. Can I fix this? I was thinking about getting some clear paint from a hobbyshop, or maybe just clear fingernail polish? but if there's a better option, I'm all ears. Thanks.

Lacquer paint works well which is why nail polish is popular for this type of work (plus you can just "borrow" some if you have females around)
