Time Pedals

What is the difference between the RXS and the RXE and how does the ease of entry compare to that of the Look system? I also noticed that the replacement cleats are about double the price of Look ARC. What is their lifespan? Thanks....Lon

I've got two pairs of RXEs with a combined milage of around 7000 and have had no problems. The main difference with the RXS is an adjustment for the elasticity of the centering action on the float (note this is not the release tension). From most accounts this is a pretty worthless adjustment. Oh, the finish on some of the metal parts is not quite as shiny as on the higher priced pedals.

Yeah, the cleats are unduly expensive (ca. $35 last I checked). So far I am only using one pair for the two sets of pedals and they are holding up well. I will soon be putting the unused pair on some new shoes that I picked up. Odd thing is that I bought my RXEs via mailorder from the UK and the pedals with cleat cost only about $15 more than the US price for the cleat!

Yes, I have a pair of RXE pedals and like them very much, no problems after about 2,500 mi.
My favorite pedals thus far, and I've got a box full :p :o
Hey jemory can you tell me the name of the mailorder place in the UK? I would like to get another pair at that price.
Thank you
Ron C

Mine were purchased some time ago when the $ to Euro (or pound) ratio was more in our favor. I got mine from probikekit.com, but it appears they no longer carry Time. Look at totalcycing.com; they have pretty good prices on Time.
