Help removing Truvativ Elita Crankset

I am trying to remove a truvativ elita crankset and am a little confused. There are 8mm hex key bolts at the bottom (bb end) of each crank arm, and I'm not sure which way to turn them to remove the arms. I am afraid of overtorquing it, so I thought I would ask, before just using brute force. Is it righty-tighty, lefty-loosy, or what? HELP!

The info is correct - for folks who may be looking, I can verify that it is counter-clockwise to loosen both sides. (use the right-hand rule or righty-tighty, lefty-loosy) Just like you would loosen any other screw. Just get a long handled 8mm hex key. For me, the right side was stuck pretty good and I had to work to get it loose. The left side was easy.
