Sora shifter, tiagra rear d. and ultegra cassette...

Hey folks,

So I upgraded the wheelset of my Ibex X-Ray Sport (cyclocross bike) and slapped on a 9-speed ultegra derailleur. It's got Sora shifters and a Tiagra rear derailleur. The guys at Ibex told me it should be compatible. I'm getting some chain skip in the higher gears though and will try to take the bike to a shop later today.

But I was wondering if anyone here knew whether the set-up above is compatible? It used to be 8-speed, so I might need to change the chain and adjust the derailleur.

But anyone have experience with this set-up? Sora shifters, Tiagra rear d. and ultegra 9-speed cassette?

Thanks!

9 speed cassette with 8 speed shifters ain't gonna work, son. Rd doesn't care about anything, it's essentially dumb.
