Bar end shifter question

Ive tried searching this site for an answer, but was not very successful.

Im trying to reinstall my bar end shifters on some aerobars and the rear shifting somehow got all screwed up. For some reason I can get more than 5 clicks and the damn thing does even shift when they do click. So....can some one out there explain to me how to get back on track?? Ive fooled with everything, including the little spacer. Thanks in advance!!!

Or the shifter pieces weren't put back together right. That is usually where people screw up.

Again, that thick silver plastic spacer is not oriented properly.

One side has to be correctly indexed to the adapter pod,and the other to the shifter.

Highly recommend you contact www.rivendellbicycles.com

They are the bar end shifter specialists. Have their own in-house designed version, too.

. . . and most bar ends can be set for friction, and work flawlessly!
