Problems with Blackburn TPS-2 floor pump
I just received my Blackburn TPS-2 floor pump from Nashbar and tried it out.
There seems to be a small air leak coming from the gauge area. I took off the cover to the gauge and checked the small 0-ring under the gauge and it seems to be fine. Also, is it supposed to show the pressure only on the down stroke? When I pull up the needle hits zero everytime. Could this be an easy fix or should I send it back for something else? *if you advise to send it back give me your pick on a floor pump w/ gauge in the sub-$30 range. (I also posted this in Road Cycling. Just tryin to cover the bases for someone who may recognize the problem) |
Blackburn is very good about thier warranty. Send it to them and they will send a new one our gratis. The did this for me on a ten year old pump. I called to order seals for it and they asked me to send it for review. they told me that they take thier lifetime warranty seriously and sent me a brand new pump in exchange. I own two Blackburn mini-pumps - one for each bike and if my wrench-force floor-pump ever dies - A Blackburn will be in it's place. You bought good stuff so let the mfg stand behind it.

Yeh, I agree completely. Blackburn has an excellent rep for customer service. If your LBS won't deal with it directly (good chance they will), then call Blackburn. No worries, I'd say.

It's bad form to take items bought online to a LBS for warranty service.

Thanks for your help guys. I'll call Blackburn this afternoon.
