Cleaning mold release

I just installed a new set of MTB tires, and they're covered with mold release compound. Now, I know this will wear off eventually, but it's pretty funky looking. I'd consider putting a couple minutes into getting the stuff out of the lugs. Is there a certain method or chemical that will quickly get rid of the compound?

Hit it with some soap and water with a brush. Alternatively, you could ride the bike through some dirt and mud to accomplish the same thing. Dirt and mud sound more fun!

Know a few that leave it on there and let it wear away naturally...on both their bike and car tires. The mold release will help protect the tire from ozone and UV effects while delaying the activation of the anti-aging, anti-oxidants, and anti-ozone protection in the tire formulation...in other words, it just helps stretch out the tire life span. But a high pH detergent will remove the mold release as well as rubbing alcohol or window cleaner.
