White Lightning on dérailleur pivots, et al?

Any reason to use (or not) White Lightning chain lube on dérailleur pivots or other sliding parts?

I tried that once and it was the worst thing I did to my bike. It seemed good for the first week but then all of the parts I put it on started sticking together. It's made for chains and it would only go on your chain.

My favorite is Sta-Lube boat trailer wheel bearing grease!! (the bluegoo!)

(see my post under the poll "Do you use a torque wrench on your bike")

spray with White Lightening Degreaser. Work the pivots and hinges manually. Let the degreaser dry. Then immediately spray with Tri-Flow or similiar lightweight lubricant. Don't tarry between degreasing and relubing else oxidation can start almost immediately on the degreased parts.

What causes it to stick? WL leaves a slick wax coating behind when it dries right? Is wax really that sticky?

I think I'm gonna leave it for a while and see what develops.

White Lightning is so named due to the speed in which it stops working.

Maybe that's what they're referring to when they advertise that it "sheds" dirt - along with itself?

Yup that's it exacty, you need to re-apply WL every 50-100 miles or at most two weeks.

White Lightning doesn't touch my bike. Prolink only now, and I haven't had to degunk my pulleys since.
