brake lever mounts

Hi, I really don't know much about bicycle mechanics (as I'm new to cycling) but how do I tighten the brake lever mounts (the metal part that wraps around the handlebar to keep the brake levers and all that on teh handlebars)? I find that one of my brake levers (the whole part, not solely the lever) slips and slides around on the handlebar when there is weight on it. Thanks for all the help!

Bikes: One brand-less build-up, and a Connondale Synapse Carbon Ultegra Disc. A nicer bike than I need, but it was a good deal, so... ;-)

You didn't specify quite enough information to determine what kind of brake levers you're talking about, but I'll take a shot anyway.

If there isn't an obvious screw that you can see to tighten, try pulling the brake lever and looking behind it at the top (into the gap betwen tehend of the depressed lever and the lever housing). If there's a screw there, tighten it (which may require working around the brake cable).

Bingo! Just checked behind it and it worked; I never even thought of checking there. Thanks.
