Rock"N"Roll products
Has anyone got any experience with RockNRoll
products, lubes, Grease, nipple cream?
I keep hearing they are good, and somehow "different"
than the usual TriFlow, whitelightening etc.
would like some feedback.
thanks,
Marty

The shop where I bought my Bianchi sells Rock n' Roll lubes and is impressed with them. I used 1 bottle of their chain lube and it seemed OK. Not much of a test though. It seemed strange to me to put it on my chain though. It's kinda brown and muddy looking. Looked like what I'd just cleaned off.

I use Rock'N'Roll Extreme for my MTB and during the wet/winter season for my RB. I use Rock'N'Roll Gold for most every other situation. The thing is you're not supposed to drip the lube on. You squirt a nice stream on as if you were squirting ketchup on a hotdog. The lube also cleans. Then you just wipe off the excess. It can get a little messy (and a bit wasteful) but it's worked very well for me. I usually use it when I don't have time to do a thorough cleaning job on my drivetrain. If I'm doing a complete clean, I'll take the chain off and degrease it in Simple Green and use Dumonde lube instead.

I just tried the Gold for the first time when I got a new chain and cogset. I've tried several products and it seems to work better than any of the teflon based products.
Excellent product as long as you follow the directions. Squirt it on heavy and wipe it off completely.

The Rock n Roll products seem to work great in my experience. Their lubes are formulated for their intended uses and they seem to work quite well when the directions are followed. The Gold runs pretty clean and I have also had good performance from the extreme formula on my mountain bike. Their Hand cleaner also works quite well and you can dilute it to make a bike wash solution. I have recently switched to Pro Link chain lube and I am having even better results with it.

I've used the Gold and the Extreme (the brown one) on my MTB, and have been happy with them. All lubes claim miraculous, unique characteristics, but that's mostly marketing (some are better than others, though).
My old favorite is White Lightning, but I think both of the Rock n Rolls that I've used have been better than WL.
