i have a bomber front forkbu marzocchi and it seems to lost air. is this normal? i haven't been riding on it for awhile and when i got on today it felt like it depressed WAY more than normal. is this something i can fix myself or will i have to go to the bike shop for a tune up?

If you have a shock pump you can do it yourself. Just refer to the guidelines in your manual as to the pressure you need it at for your weight.

Yeah i thought i would need a special pump. is it really important to have the pressure in each tub eexactly the same or can they be "roughly" the same?

It would be nearly impossible to get them exact to the pound. Just get them as close as possible. (Some forks only have air on one side.)

well from what i have seen of mine, there are two valves at the top of each tube. so there is no chance that an air hose at a gas station will fix this? do bike shops usually charge for such a simple thing?

If you put a gas station hose to that you'll almost assuredly blow the seals. They hold very little volume. I wouldn't even use a regular tire hand pump on them. Your bike shop will probably do it for nothing.

might be wise to invest in a shock pump (roughly $15-$30) since air shocks are known to leak air over time.

are they known to leak air? i know the tires were kinda low. it spent an unfortunate amount of time in a very hot truck. and i think the heat caused the leaks of air. i was afriad the shocks were jacked up.
