More information please? What shifters and derailleurs? When you say "down" do you mean to a smaller cog or to an easier gear (bigger cog)? Is this an indexed or friction system?

sorry about that, its a sram xs5 shifter and deraliaur, it keeps going down to the smaller cog, and i dont know what system it is.

Hehehehe. On the bottom of the bike there is a blastic router that routes the cables around the frame. Because of dirt and water, friction in that section is exterimely tight. Thus keeping it clean and lubbed is important. Like every ride important if you want top notch shifting.
After that you got cables. Shimano Dura Ace SP41 is a top grade cable set, I'm talking about the whole thing, including that plastic router, frame adjusters, gear indicator, housings and cables, cost $12.. Upgrade time.
