Coda Octalink triple-- V1 or V2?
A friend gifted me a Coda triple crankset. There aren't many identifying marks, but according to him, it uses an Octalink BB. (It's got eight splines.)
Would it be V1 or V2? From what I've gathered V1 was used mostly for road and a few models of XTR, so I'm thinking V2.
I assume 113 would be a good spindle length...
Then I found this old thread:
What are the chances I have this weird CODA standard? The inner ring is 29t....but there's a good chance this isn't an OEM ring as this was a take-off from a racer's bike.

um, coda also had their own splined pattern a few years ago. Completely proprietary, but revolutionary in how it preceded modern splined designs (talking modern here, not 1940s designs). I don't know much about it except the cranks were marketed as "magic motorcycle" cranks in their road incarnation.

excellent news. CODA made their weird cranks primarily for their high end mtbs though, with 29/42t chainrings. But if you really had some of those I would suggest selling them on ebay as they fetch quite a penny!

Since there are eight splines, and they're mtb cranks, I'd guess they're v2 Octalink. Regarding spindle length, my XT v2 Octalink gives best chainline on my mtb with a 118mm spindle.

In terms of v1 being used for XTR, I believe it was used for only older models.
