Rear Derailer Adjustment

I just replaced my cassette, chain, and crankset/chainrings on my mountain bike (all xt).
My rear derailer is coming into contact with the top cog on my cassette when I'm in my small ring in the front. I have the b-screw set all the way tight, and my chain as short as I could manage to get it and still fit both big cog/ring. I have searched all over the place for an answer, so what do you think I should try?

Everything is shifting well and the derailer is a M952 (long xtr) with new pulleys.

The tactical solution is a longer B screw, but that shouldn't be needed. Just for grins, check that the dérailleur hanger isn't bent.

What part of the dérailleur is contacting the big cog, btw?

Same size pulleys, or 1 tooth larger? Jockey wheel is hitting the cassette?

I replaced the pulleys with 11 tooth XT/LX, the same size as the XTR without the bearings inside the pulley. I also went from a standard set of rings (24, 34, 46) to a compact (22, 32, 44). Also another problem caused by having the b-limit screw all the way in causes the pulley to sit too high when it is in the mid gears, which allows the chain to more play. I checked the derailler hanger, and the pulleys are vertical of each other.

The teeth on the pulley is hitting the teeth on the cassette.

As I stated initially I have shortened the chain as much as possible, it was worse with a longer chain.

How do you measure chain length? Traditional big-big+, or Shimano's cage-position method?

Thats right cause I don't trust them people to touch my bike, besides paying to have em f-ck it up.

Try the Shimano method. It's on the Service Instructions.

You sound like you know what you're doing so this is probably not necessary to ask, but is the D/R moving freely on all pivot points, especially where it attaches to the hanger?

I agree; why pay them to f-ck it up when you can do it for free?!
