Compression plug cap loosening on its own

I am using the Reynolds Ouzo Pro Integrated on my bike. I get the headset adjusted just fine, tighten the top cap to the compression plug fine to snug everything up, then tighten the stem bolts to "lock" everything in place. I am noticing that the top cap that attaches to the compression plug is loosening on its own while riding. Anyone else seen this happen? I guess after the stem bolts are tightened, all the stress on the compression plug's top cap is taken away - leaving it to loosen, as nothing applies pressure to it to keep it set (i guess all it does is preloads the stack prior to tightening the stem bolts).

thanks - paul

After you adjust the headset and tighten the stem clamp bolts, snug up the compresion nut and it shoud stay put.
You can also sweat on it for a while, this will really help it stick tight.

The trick here is that you have to torque the compression plug down first, then torque the top cap down. You can buy a torque wrench for ~$20.00 at Autozone and a set of allen adaptors for ~$9.00 at Autozone. The torque settings are shown at: www.reynoldscomposites.com/manual.pdf . If you do not have a PDF reader, go to www.download.com and download Adobe Acrobat PDF reader. It's free.
