10sp cassette not fitting onto powertap

I'm transfering a cassette from a mavic wheel to a powertap hub. I understand mavic wheels have their own spacer that goes in before the cogs. But when i put the cassette onto the PT without the spacer its too loose. when i include the mavic spacer the lockring won't screw on. Does this mean i need a thinner spacer?
cheers.

Use the Shimano spacer that came with the cassette...
