Tightening STI Tiagara shifter/brake lever
Hi,
Just got a bike with STI shifters, my first road bike. Right now the shifters feel pretty flimsy/loose. Is there any way to tighten them so it takes a little more effort to move them laterally? Thank you for the help. |
Peel back the the outside of the hood and you should see a little slot with a bolt at the bottom. Do not over tighten it, as you want there to be a little give in case of a crash (it is better than having a very expensive part snap off).

Hi guys,
Yes I meant the latter, the shifter lever feels a bit loose. Not the unit on the handlebars. Thanks for trying to help. |

Look for a tiny screw on the underside. It it's loose, tighten it. If it's missing, use the one from the other side to try to find a replacement.
