BB Facing
I'm going to install a Hollowtech-II BB on my bike, which came with an older-style cartridge BB, so there's no reason to believe that the BB shell was ever faced (and probably was not). I might as well do this right as long as I'm doing it at all. Can anyone give me an idea what a reasonable cost would be from an LBS to do this operation? I assume that it only takes a couple of minutes if I just bring my frame into the shop.

I just bought a new bike and had the frame faced at that time of purchase, they charged me £10 extra for the job including refiiting the old BB, it was a cheap bike and I think that if I was paying for a better bike the LBS would have done that in the price.
I took my last bike in to have the BB removed and the frame faced I think that was about £15 as a single job.

I paid $30 to have a headtube and bottom bracket shell faced at my LBS. It only takes a few minutes but I'd call ahead if you need them to do it while you wait.
