rear derailleur pulley replacement
I have a shimano 7700 dura ace rear derailleur. I need to replace a pulley in it. It's the one with a bit of play.
Should I buy a DA replacement set? or go with performance forte pulleys? Will there be any issues if I go with the forte set?

I was thinking the same thing. I looked around and saw crazy stuff like ceramic bearing pulleys and such.... I def. don't need that, but it'll be good to save some $. I just shelled out a bunch for winter cycling clothing

Most Shimano derails have a floating top pulley. The Fortes don't seem to offer a floating pulley.

Be sure you get a replacement pulley with the standard float. There were a lot of aftermarket pulleys in the past (Bullseye was one make) that were fixed and setting up index shifting with them was very tricky as the alignment had to be perfect.
Any model Shimano top pulley with the same number of teeth should be just fine.

When you say its the pully with a bit of play, do you mean the side to side float that's supposed to be in the upper pully or some other form of play?

The intentional side-to-side play is exactly what I mean. Shimano calls this "Centeron" and it corrects for minor derailleur misalignment and minor spacing differences in the cassette. Index shifting is difficult to impossible to make accurate and quiet without it.
