Chain quality

After 2000 miles the original chain on my Giant FCR3 has 'stretched' by about 1/16 inch over a 12 inch length. So I'm thinking it is time for a new chain.

The LBS has two chains to choose from. One is a $25 SRAM PC-870 and the other is a $13 KMC Z-72. The original chain was a Z-72. Is the SRAM chain a better chain or should I base my purchase just on price?

A chain is a chain for the most part. The Sram quick link is really nice though but not worth double the price.
