Okay here's what I'm trying to do. I have an old school side pull single pivot brake on the front of my fixed gear; however, it is a certified POS and I would like to upgrade it to a nice dual pivot side pull. Therein lies the rub. I have a 1973ish Raleigh frame and it doesn't have the recessed area on the fork. Does anybody make something like an adapter washer and longer mounting bolt that would allow me to pull this off? I guess my other options would be to get a newer fork but this sounds like a cheaper proposition if it exists. Thanks!

If you don't mind drilling the fork, that's the solution. You've already got a nice big pilot hole there. And you don't have to bevel it, just drill the hole in the back side of the fork to the right size, and you're done. If you don't have the right sized recessed nut, your LBS should be able to help you, they come in different lengths-

hmm well I don't feel comfertable drilling the fork on my own, nor do I own a drill but maybe a well outfitted bike shop in the area could do that for me. Thanks man.
