Bought a set of pedals with both L and R pedals having the same thread direction?

Bought a set of pedals with both L and R pedals having the same thread direction?

How can this be? Right pedal works fine, left cannot be screwed in. However even if it could would it not just unscrew?

Factory mistake. They used two right spindles. It happens and I have seen it before. Take them back and get a different set. Roger
