Everyone knows King only sold all of two headsets in that last five years.

You've single handedly corrected the only King headset installation screw-up in the past five years! (The other one was installed by a reputable shop with freshly sharpened facing tooling.)

We all know there aren't any King headset users out there that not only installed them without having the frame faced by a pro shop, but are curently using them without problems.

Got a chip on your shoulder? I wasn't aware we were arguing. I guess you're both delusional and apparently insecure (to the point that you feel you have to defend your wrenching practices for whatever reason). I was just giving my input to the discussion. Lighten up.

GREAT thread, lots of laughs. Many mechanics here have been wrenching for a while, myself included. Thus you know the importance, or lack thereof for facing, chasing, tapping, slapping, and whacking. IMHO do what is necessary to insure the enjoyment of your bicycle. Replace parts that have gotten their FAIR use. If the part did not fulfill a fair lifetime or quality, then perhaps you may need a face, chase, tap, slap, or whack.
