11t gear skip question.
i recently rebuilt my ciocc with all chorus 08. Its rear spaced for 126 and i didnt do anything special, just put it in. Everything works perfect except the 11t on the cluster skips. Ive checked to see if anythings rubbing.. and it doesnt look like it, but its definitely close.. any ideas? is the chain maybe too long? thanks..

Can you describe the "skipping" a little more? Is it constant or just when there's a lot of pressure?
Is the chain AND cassette new? Check to make sure the high-limit screw is not too tight.
A long chain will rub on itself under the rear derailleur in the small chainring and smaller cogs; if the chain doesn't rub itself then I doubt it's the problem.
Is it just the picture/my perception, or are those some very deep drop bars?

Are you using the special 11t lockring? If you use the regular lockring the chain won't mesh with the 11 cog.

its a really wide angle lens.. and the bars are turned weird.. they are cinelli bars and not that deep.
the chain and cassette are both new.. the skipping is a slip like every 3/4 rotation of the cranks. the lock ring is a good point! because i got wheels and a cassette.. i have two lock rings.. i might have used the wrong one. Ill check that.. thanks.

The 11T lockring is noticably smaller in diameter than the 12/13.

For Campy, only the 11T cassettes come with a lockring. Their lockrings for 12 and 13T cassettes are included with the hubs so 12 and 13T replacement cassettes don't include one.
