Symmetrical spindle sealed ISO taper bottom brackets
I was just wondering which sealed ISO taper bottom brackets have a symmetrical spindle. I'm considering options for track cranks and am trying to assess the cost of going with Sugino 75s. The matching BB has a 109 mm symmetrical spindle but uses loose bearings, which I don't really want to deal with. I know there's the Phil Wood route but I'd like to go cheap if possible.
What I'm wondering in particular is whether any of the Campagnolo 111 mm BBs have symmetrical spindles. Ideally, I'd run something cheap like a Veloce. Secondly, what is the effect of running an asymmetric BB? Thanks! |
I believe Campy square taper bb's for Centaur and below are symetrical. I know Chorus and Record are not.

How about a 110mm Miche Primato? The low price scares a lot of people away, but it's symetrical, the taper is ISO and it mounts like a Phil, so your chainline is adjustable. I got mine from Universal Cycles, but I see the 110mm is out of stock. The picture they have on their site is not what it looks like. It's a cartrdge with no threads and two adapter rings, just like a Phil. I haven't had any problems with mine, but it doesn't have many miles on it.
