Hey everyone...i was just wondering if any of u could help me out with a little problem of mine...
I ride alot of downhill and only have 120mm travel up front on my Kona hardtail and i was wondering what amount can the frame handle..before weakening and eventually breaking
The frame: 2005 Kona Shred
Current Forks: Dirt Jumper 4 - 120mm
Thanks

the kona shred is designed to be a jump bike and therefore jump bikes usually have travel between 80mm and 100mm or rigid. i think anything over 130mm will make the riding poor and ruin the geo.

20mm rule states you're good up to 140mm.

As for hardtails with more than 140mm up front, you have some learning to do my friend.
I agree with WTP, on that frame, no more than 140.
