Is there something wrong with these Shimano 105 STI shifters?

I'm looking to upgrade my drive train to 9-speed Shimano 105 and I'm wondering if there is a reason why these shifters are cheaper than other 105 shifters. Seems like most other new 105 STI shifters are twice the cost. Is it just because these shifters are an older model or is there some other reason?

Thanks for the help.

My guess is it's just because they are the older, 9-speed model.

The current 105 shifters are 10-speed and the now "obsolete" 9-speed versions are being sold at very attractive prices.

Just before the 10 speed stuff hit the market, they could be found for as low as $129/pair, new. I bought some for my sister's LHT.

Once the new 5600 stuff came out the prices shot back up to $169 and above. I'd still buy them at that price, they're worth it.

They're no longer the "hot" item. Simple as that.
I just picked up a new 9-speed DuraAce triple crankset ($140) for that same reason.
I have no shame, the price was right, and my Tiagra crank was old. I'm happy.
