73 mm bb in 68 mm frame

will a 73 mm bottom bracket work in a 68 mm frame I have some spacers

Yeah, maybe so if the threading is the same, but why not just buy the right part? Gonna mess up your chainline.

Really? I just checked the place I regularly order from, and they had Shimano BB-UN54 68x110 in stock. As well as several others close to 110 (107, 108, 111) that should be close enough in many cases.
