R.I.P. Sheldon Brown
"Sheldon's wife Harriet sent out mail this morning saying that Sheldon Brown
died of a massive heart attack last night." Let's hope that it is just a hoax. |

|
Someone could call Harris Cyclery and ask.
|
Oh dear. I hope this is not true.

Captain Brown is shown as having last visited BF at 7.39 pm PST yesterday.
I will hope this is a vile rumour :( . East Hill |
I hope that the rumor turns out to be false.

It's posted on the Harris Cyclery homepage: Dear Harris Cyclery friends and customers, It is with heavy hearts that we convey to you the news that Sheldon Brown has passed away. Our thoughts go out to his family at this time. The cycling community has lost one of it's most passionate members. I'm sure him and Sidney will have some very animated discussions on the long eternal ride. |
His website has been such a great reference over the years. Sheldon's site encouraged me to tinker, and eventually made me decide to give wheel building a try. I certainly hope this is not true, while at the same time, I know that he was a good man, and will go wherever it is that good men go.

The Mass Bike web site says nothing about it either. I certainly hope this is a hoax. |
