compatibility with campagnolo 9 and 10 speed crank arms. help..
i had a set of 172.5 arms on my bike ( campy 9 speed) then i switched frames. had a bit of issue with toe rub so I TOOK MY NEW CAMPY 10 SPEED CRANKSET AND SWITCHED ARMS WITH THE 9 SPEED. because the 10 were 170. i then had to readjust my front derailleur it had to be adjusted out more to hit the 53 ring. what was going on here are the crank arms alone that diferent?

Depending on the group, they could be. Chorus and Record 10-speed use a different bottom bracket from Centaur and below and may require a different bb from the 9-speed cranks.

Sounds like you need to check the BB spindle length and compare with the crankset you are trying to use. Go to www.Branfordbike.com they have a good explaination of Campy compatibility between the years and groups.
