I forgot to clean my bike a little while ago so the chain now is covered with rust. What is a way to clean this rust off? is my chain ruined?

Has long has the links are movable the chain Is o.k.Here Is where WD 40 can help to loosen things up...you can also give the links a twist If any are tight and not movable.Put both hands on your chain now and push & pul the chain Is there any play In the chain...I had to throw a customers chain away the other day too much play?
