New Campy "QS" shifters w/ non-QS Campy FD?

The Campy "QS" or Quick Shift change to the Front derailleurs leads to inevitable question of compatibility. I haven't seen an answer to this particular question in old posts, so let me ask it here.

I need new shifters. Will the new Campy Chorus "QS" Ergo shifters work with my 2006 non-QS Chorus front derailleur?

From what I understand, that there are problems trying to use the new "QS" front derailleurs with the older non-QS shifters, but I'm not sure about the other way around, which is my situation.

If i could just get the new QS shifters without a new FD, I could then upgrade the FD later, but if only the non-QS shifters will work with the non-QS FD, then I will have to upgrade both in the future (i.e., buy shifters twice). Or buy a new FD now, along with the new QS shifters, even though the one I have is barely a year old and in excellent shape. I am hoping this makes a little bit of sense. Thanks for the help.

Yes but you will have to throw the lever twice to get it to shift up.
