Weinmann Vainqueur 999 center pull / Aero lever compatible?

I ridden on Weinmann Vainqueur 999 brakes w/ Mathauser pads for years with no complaints, but I've noticed that certain modern bar/lever combinations look like they'd be easier on the wrist. Are Shimano Tiagra Aero levers compatible with Weinmann Vainqueur 999s? One mechanic says that the Shimano will not provide enough pull, another seller says they'll work fine. I'd really like to make this change, but not if it means sacrificing reliable stopping power. If the Tiagra lever is not compatible, do I have any other aero lever options without changing the brakes? (Vintage Motobecane). Thank you.

They are compatible, they will work just fine. The aero levers will provide a little better leverage, too, which from my experience makes a noticeable improvement in braking performance.

Yeah +1

I have some weinmann centerpulls just upgraded to Aero Levers (alhonga - cheap) and a bit better nowadays, means i can ride on the hoods.
