Frequent replacement of tires and Slime
Hi!
I change tires on my bike (road/dirt trails) with some frequency. Will it be easy to replace tires if I put the Slime product on my tubes? |
Slime increases the difficulty of changing tires marginally. With all the practice
you have had, it should not be a problem :D Others have reported that slimed tubes are 'unrepairable', (patches dont stick). Steve |
Slime doesn't seem to really work at pressures greater than about 45 psi. It also tends to clump together in the cold, leaving a seriously unbalanced tire. A frind of mine actually used it in a tubular once, and it not only didn' seal a very small leak, but it also ruined an expensive tire. I wouldn't use the stuff.
OTOH, Tufo makes a very good sealant. It isn't cheap, but it does work, even at very high pressures. I've had Tufo sealant work just fine on a tubular at 140 psi. |
