Derailer Issue

When I installed my new derailer it came out folded more than it seems it should be, and in a high gear the chain will actually rub against the derailer. The bike is rideable and shifts fine, but I am concerned about the chain being damaged from the derailer. How do I go about fixing this?

If you could post a picture you'll probably get more help.

Try removing a couple links from your chain. It appears to be too long.

Your chain stays are too short.
