Darn flat tires!
Is there any advice that you guys have for general flat tire prevention? I have a LeMond Etape with Bontrager Select 700x25c tires, and I really don't like changing and patching tubes! I've read about rim tape, tube liners, and more expensive tires with kevlar and whatnot? What is the best way to prevent flats?!

I've had great luck in vastly reducing my flat ratio when using Panaracer tires with kevlar belts in them. It's a ratio of 1:8 or 1:10 less compared to my other tires.

Panaracer TG which has kevlar belt and bead, while still being a light weight tire.

Second lots of talc or baby powder in the tire and around the tube help prevent many pinch flats and makes mounting the tire easier.:) |
Kevlar!

Our local bike trail has asphalt with glass filler.
I got tired of changing tubes in the rain and got some Bongrager Race Lites. I haven't gotten a flat in several months now. |
Get tires with REAL flat protection. Like the schwalbe marathon plus. Once you see a cross-section, you'll immediately know the difference between tires that claim puncture resistance and those that actually offer something of value.
