Fork mount hitch rack question

For those who have experience with fork mount type hitch racks, can you recommend them? They have been made by several manufacturers, but I don't think any are currently in production. They do come available occasionly on eBay and Craigslist. The modely by Yakima was the Hitchfork, and Saris also made one, and I saw one by Graber.

I wonder what the reason is that they have all been discontued. Was it because they were not very reliable, didn't work properly, or users just preferred something that did not need the wheel removed to mount the bike?

They look to me that one would work fine for what I want. If I thought they would work OK, I would try to pick one up.

Thanks
