Bearing Replacement Question

I'm replacing the bearings on an old campy record headset, there are 22 5/32" bearings in a 1" retainer. I dont trust myself not to destroy the retainer if I try to replace just the bearings, and cant find replacement bearings in retainers. Anyone know where to get any replacement bearings or know any other solutions?

You could get ball bearings from an LBS and rebuild the headset without the cage. You will need one or two extra balls to do it this way.

You can't find caged bb's the same size at a bike shop? If you use loose balls, fill the race, then remove 2 bb's. Removing 2 seems to be the consensus from previous BF threads.
