thanks for the advice!

I asked awhile ago about front derailleur allignment. I ended up having to get a new gear cable along the way, but I have my Ultegra triple beautifully aligned so that the chain rubs the derailleur cage in NO gear. I also learned a lot along the way

Thanks bike forums experts. I appreciate your input!

One thing I've learned from this forum is 'never be afraid to try and fix something'. Yes, I often have to read up on what it is I'm going to do, but most everything has gone well. The few that haven't were corrected after a few more tries. Result; I know my ride and am a fair hand at dealing with all its systems and adjustments.

I just kept the worst case scenario in mind, which is taking it to the LBS after I had screwed everything up. Well, because bikes really are simple machines, I never had to do that. Learning more about your ride always pays off, in savings and satisfaction. bk

Books can only take care of the basics...

I come to Mechanics for the fine tuning and always get great advice...

A big :beer: for all the help...
