Seat Post Clamp
I have heard before that you should rotate your seat post clamp so that the bolt is on the front. My frame is slitted in the back and I have had problems before with it digging into a carbon post. I have though of this before and did it for a short time but when I took it to a bike shop (A pretty good bike shop) their mechanic about shatted himself when he saw it like that.

The assembly instructions for my Specialized Roubaix (carbon frame and post) specify that the slot (and therefore the bolt) in the seat post clamp be oriented to the front of the bike, presumably for the reason you stated.

The clamp should only be positioned in regards to where the slit in the seat tube is. You don't have a choice. If the slit is in the back. Then the bolt on the seat clamp needs to be in the back.
