9sp shifter to 8sp cassette+chain
Just got a pair Shimano LX m580 rapidfire shifters to go with avid levers...but my drivetrain is 8 speed
got to the site that sold me the casette and they said that the SRAM 8 speed cassette is compatible with <paste>(You can use any 9 speed compatible derailleur and shifters for the Sram PG-850 8 Speed Cassette. That includes LX, XT, XTR, & Sram ) ---END
I know the Front shifter is fine with my front derlr...but will the 9 speed shifter work with a 8speed drivetrain**********(cassette and derailleur)
if not Ill just store the shifters till I convert to 9 speed...(a yr from now...)
