Changing tires

Whiy is it so *&^%ing hard to change the tires on a road bike. It is completely ridiculous that a normal man has to sweat so bad and nearly rip his finger tips off to change a damn tire. Now I understand why people drive. It would be easier to use a coconut as a guide for a colonoscopy.

This is a common problem with new tires. After a few hundred miles they get easier.
I'd rather have tires that are too tight than too loose.

Whenever I feel like the bead is fighting me I run my fingers around the rest of the sidewalls starting from the opposite side and working both ways around to the tire levers. The idea is to push the tire bead down and into the center of the bead depression along the centerline of the rim. That'll give you the slack you need to start levering the bead over and then wipe the second lever around the rim. Once you've gone a few inches it zips off easily.

Doing the running of the bead down into the center makes a HUGE difference. For it to work the best you need to make sure there's as little air in the tube as possible from a few quick squeezes. Just another reason why I prefer presta valves as it makes letting the air out so easy.

I have found that it so much depends on the wheel/tyre combination.
A tyre which is a pain to fit on one wheel will be a comfortable fit on another.
You would appear to have the big wheel/small tyre syndrome.
Suggest that you try different tyres, a few friends might help here to find the optimum fit.
It could be worse I encountered the opposite - small wheel/large tyre syndrome and was extremely fortunate to escape serious injury when the rear tyre blew off the rim.

Try changing tires on a motocross bike (dirt bike)... you'll never complain about road bike tires again. I actually enjoy changing road bike tires because it reminds me of my motocross days and how much more difficult they were.
