Shimano/American Classic Cassettes SRAM Compatability

Hi,

Will Shimano Cassettes (Ultegra and lower) shift okay with SRAM RD (10 speed)? Also I have a friend with American Classic Cassette 10 speed, with those also work with SRAM

Thanks
