velox restoration

I already tried the vintage forum to no avail.
Anyway, my wife was digging around in the basement recently, and came across her grandmother's old ('30s we're guessing) Velox women's bike which she brought over from Italy. As you'd expect, the components are in pretty bad shape, but the frame is in surprisingly good condition. I'm wondering if anybody could direct me to a mechanic/repair shop here in California (preferably in the San Francisco Bay Area) with the expertise and the access to parts (rod brakes, westwood rims, euro style handlebars, etc.) necessary restore this bike to its former glory. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
-b

Do you really think there are shops that stock bike parts from the 1930s?

I think he's suggesting you Google what you're looking for and order online.

That's the thing... I have only a very general idea what I'm looking for. If I knew, for example whether English parts (rod systems, headsets, cranks, wheels, handlebars, etc.) which seem still to be available in a few spots were compatible, I'd at least have a starting point. Velox parts gets me nothing--not even on Italian ebay.
Thanks for responding,

On a bike that old be very careful what and how you "restore". Patina can be a valuable thing. You could actually decrease the bike's value.

C&V forum is the place for you to inquire:
