Ksyrium freehub issue

I have a set of 2004 Ksyrium SSC SL wheels that have a shimano freehub body on them. I bought a Campy freehub body to convert it to campy(m40591). When I took it to the bike shop to get it switched, the campy freehub body will not sit properly on the hub. It does not go down far enough to engage the pawls. It spins freely. We used the new washer that came with the campy freehub, although it seems to be the same thickness as the one that was already on there. If we installed the freehub without the washer, the pawls would then engage the freehub body. But the washer is needed, so we couldn't just leave it out. Has anyone run into this issue before? The lbs is going to call Mavic tomorrow to see what they have to say. Thanks for the help.

make sure there is not a washer "stuck" on the hub bearing. Maybe you accidentally have 2 spacers instead of one.....

We checked and double checked that everything was installed correctly. No double stacking here.

I figured as much. That spacer has a way of blending with the bearing and it is easy to miss.

Call the guys at Excel Sports in Boulder, CO...they do the exchange all the time. They are nice enough to answer. Sounds like you haven't removed something in the housing or the palls aren't engaging holding the FHB out. There may be a trick to get the palls to engage.
