Spacing out a Track Wheel

i have a built up alexrims At400 track wheel,


Can such a wheel be spaced using conventional wheel spacing kits?

You mean you want it to fit a wider frame? If so, how much wider?

Track bikes are spaced 120mm in the rear, but many track hubs come with axles long enough for 135mm spacing (MTB standard). You just need an even width of spacers on each side between the bearing cone/race and the locknut.

Assuming the hub is 120mm: on one side, screw down the end nut to the locknut and measure the remaining axle length; minus the width of one dropout; multiply by two; and add 120mm. This will be the widest spacing your axle can handle.
