Braided carbon rail saddle & Topeak Quick Clip

I have a Aliante saddle with braided carbon rails. I've been using my standard strap bag for the winter and spring since it was big enough to jam my wind breaker or vest into. However with the warm weather I'd like to start using my smaller topeak bag again. However it is one of the models that uses their quick clip system.

If I don't crank the bolts down to excess, do you think there's any risk in damaging the carbon rails using the clip system?

Doubt you could do any more damage than your seatpost clamp would do.

I love the quick clip system, it is one of my favorite Topeak products.

On the subject of over tightening, however, you should worry more about your quick clip than your rails, I happen to know that the plastic part of the clamp is not indestructible. Don't ask. Go snug, but don't crank it.
