Cannondale Integrated Headset
I need a new integrated headset for a CAAD8 frame with a Slice carbon fork with an alloy steer tube. What type of FSA/Cane Creek headset will fit this? The C-Dale tech docs say "Alloy Steerer tubes use standard star nut preload assemblies" but I don't know what that means.

i have yet to have this issue with my c'dale but it is my understanding that a standard integrated headset will work. from what i have read on this forum and another bike forum i would definitely go with cane creek. their customer service seems par excellant!

The alloy (i.e. aluminum) steerers use a pressed in starnut to preload the headset. Carbon steerers require a compression plug and must not be used with a starnut.
