Dupont chain saver teflon

Anybody use this? looks like it would be very good..and cheap 5 bucks a can.

the multi use is for everything, including bike chains and motorcycle

the other chain saver teflon lube would be good.

I have some pedros lube and dont care for it

Hi,
I learned about Dupont Multi-use on a motorcycle chain lube website. It was the guy's
favorite and he's tried them all.
Apparently it's bascially the same stuff as the chain lube, just cheaper.

So I bought some. Over the winter I used it all over the house and liked it a lot.

Put some on the bike chain a couple weeks ago and I have to say that so far I love it.
It lubricates well and doesn't get gunked up.

It's cheap, it's great, you'd be crazy not to try it.

Got mine at Lowes, it's not hard to find.

I haven't tried it on my chain, but I really like it for my squeaky cleats and various other things. I did use Finish Line Dry on my chain for a while, which seems like very similar stuff, so I'm not surprised it makes a good chain lube. I recently tried out a can of Gunk dry lube and it doesn't work nearly as well for me, so I'm switching back to the Dupont for the bike (I guess I can save the Gunk for door hinges or something).

That lube is a new spin on an old idea. There use to be others on here, including myself, that back in the early 80's, we would use parafin wax that came in a can which we then would heat it till it turned to liquid, pour and mix in some Slick 50 (the old stuff had true Dupont teflon, but the Slick50 folks sold out to another company and the new company cheapened the ingredents and used a lessor quality teflon made by another company). The addition of Slick 50 would help chains last longer...but all this was experimental by die hard parafin wax freaks that swore parafin wax was the only thing to put on chains.

I use this on my motorcycle chain and it is phenomenal. It dries quickly, doesn't attract dirt and lubricates very well (I have 30,000 kms on my chain and it is still going.

Its definitely going on my bicycle this summer. Good stuff at half the price.

I was reading on the motorcycle forums about this stuff a while ago, seems like everyone loves it. I can't find it in Canada though.

Interestingly, it is made by Finish Line USA (https://www.finishlineusa.com/) for DuPont. Check out the manufacturer listed on the Fastenal website (https://www.fastenal.com/web/products...4123705&ucst=t). Some people on the motorcycle forums are actually buying Finish Line Dry Lube (https://www.finishlineusa.com/product...-plus-lube.htm) as a substitute for DuPont Teflon Chain Saver if they can't find it. Not sure if it is exactly the same formula though, plus the finish line is probably more expensive.

I have been using the finish line dry and it has been great so far! I will try the Dupoint teflon next time since it is half the price.
