campi rear cage is hitting cog help

hi there,

i just put a new cassette on my road bike. i went from a 13 -26 to a 14-28 campi. I have a medium cage veloce 9 speed rear derailure on the front i have a 3 chain rings. I wanted more gear options when pulling a trailer. the problem i am having is when i am in on the smallest chain ring in the front and the 25 cog in the back the inside of the cage is rubbing against the 28 cog. I let out the tension screw as far as it will go to lower the derailure. I think its becasue of the jump from 25 to 28 all the other spacing is only 2 teeth apart. what can i do I cant use the 25 because of this.
I took it to the bike shop and they told me to file down the inner side of the cage. I dont know if i like that idea I still have the old cassette i was thinking maybe i could take out the 25 and put a 26 in there but then i think i might have the same problem with in 23 rubbing on 26. hepl me please

thanks mz

The tension screw should be screwed all the way in to pull the derailleur back to clear the big cog. It sounds like you might have unscrewed it instead. Is that the case?

the campi veloce has a spring tension screw only on the bottom part of the derailure. from what i got from the campi page it say to turn it counter clock wise to lower the derailer. does that make sense?

thank you for anyhelp
